The Warrant's Traditions are much older than our seagoing service.

Navy Warrant Officers: A Legacy of Excellence
For over two centuries, Navy Warrant Officers have played a pivotal role in the strength and success of the United States Navy. As one of the four initial ranks of the U.S. Navy, their accomplishments include: command at-sea, creation of the "Don't Give Up The Ship" flag, creation of the 1818 U.S. flag, first flight to the North Pole, first WWII recipient of the Medal of Honor, and creation of the "Sailor of the Year" program. The culmination of their efforts resulted in 20 U.S. ships named after Warrant Officers.
Preserving and Celebrating the History of CWOs
At the heart of our mission is the dedication to preserving the rich history of Warrant Officers. Through our efforts, we aim to honor the contributions these officers have made across all domains of naval warfare. Their leadership has shaped not only the Navy’s culture but also its future. This preservation ensures their stories and achievements are passed down to future generations, helping us understand the critical role Warrant Officers have played in times of peace and conflict.
Building the future
Our commitment extends beyond honoring the past. We are focused on developing the next generation. By providing mentorship, education, and resources, we aim to guide aspiring officers through the process of becoming part of this prestigious community. Our goal is to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and leadership necessary to uphold the high standards that have defined CWOs for centuries.
