Purpose: Updates guidance for basic eligibility requirements to apply for the Active Duty LDO, CWO, and WO1 programs, superseding Chapter 7 of a previous reference.
Scope and Applicability: The LDO and CWO programs offer commissioning opportunities for qualified Active Duty and Reserve senior enlisted personnel, while the WO1 program is only open to Active Duty personnel.
Program Information:
A baccalaureate degree is not required but encouraged.
Leadership ability, military qualifications, and technical expertise are key selection factors.
Specific designators have additional degree and service requirements.
Eligibility Requirements:
U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
Applicants must be high school graduates or possess an equivalency certificate.
Good moral character and physical fitness standards are required.
Must be serving on Active Duty at the time of application.
Application Procedures:
Applications must be submitted via the chain of command and received by the designated board.
Applicants can apply for up to two designators.
Necessary endorsements from the Commanding Officer (CO) are required.
CO Guidance:
COs must appoint a panel of commissioned officers to interview applicants and review their qualifications.
